Itinerary:

• 9:00 - 9:30 a.m. : Pick-up from hotel or guest-house by pick-up truck.
• We will leave Chiang Mai on highway 108 past the airport to Sanphathong, an about 40 min. drive. We will make a stop at a local market. The guide will buy the food for the trek and you have time to buy some things you might need on the trek.
• After an about 1h drive to the Wachiratarn waterfalls in the Doi Inthanon National Park. Here we will make the mid-day break and and have lunch for about 1 hour.
• After the break we will drive about 30 min. to the Twin Royal Pagodas and then to the 2565 m high peak of Doi Inthanon. Then we will drive another 45 min to the end of the road at a Meo hilltribe village, where we start walking. For about 2 hours the guide will lead you through a wonderful evergreen jungle landscape, through bamboo forests, lianas, rhododendrons and lots of other vegetation. Also there are lots of beautiful birds.
• The walk will lead us to a Karen hilltribe village, where we will stay over night.
• The next morning, after breakfast we will walk through the jungle to a waterfall for about 2.5 hours. There we will have lunch. Then we will walk another 2.5 hours to a Karen hilltribe village. There we will spend our second night.
• The next morning, after breakfast we will walk for about 2 hours to Mae Mud, a village of the Shan tribe (Tai Yai). There we will have lunch. After lunch we will go bamboo rafting on the Mae Wang Stream for about 1 hour.
• The rafts are made of bamboo stems fit together with ropes. Then will make an adventurous elephant ride through the jungle for about 1 hours. After the elephant ride we will drive back to Chiang Mai where we will arrive at about 17:00 - 17:30 h.
